How to Choose the Right LED Flood Light
1. Power selection
Floodlights are available in wattages from 50w, 70w, 100w, 150w, 250w, 350w, etc. Lamps with different powers can be used in different environments, providing customers with great flexibility in choice.however, what wattage should I choose? If you plan to use your lights for outdoor billboards, tunnels, gardens, courtyards, driveways, bridges, culverts, plazas, stadium lighting or outdoor events, how do you find the appropriate wattage? For example, if you have a yard of 50 square meters, the required brightness is 50x100=5000 lumens. For an LED with 130 lumens per watt, the required power is 5000/130=38.5W. So 50WLED would be suitable.
2. Service life
Lamps that last longer are always your best choice, as new lamps can be expensive to purchase and install, especially if you are doing a large-scale replacement. If the lights are turned on for 10 hours a day, the LED can run for 22 years.
3. Waterproof
Waterproofing is an important feature of outdoor LED floodlights. In order to be able to work in rain, snow and storms, the luminaire should have at least an IP65 protection rating.
4. Heat dissipation
A good floodlight should have an effective cooling system to transfer heat from the internal structure to the outside. Aluminum is a good conductive material for manufacturing heat dissipation systems. We can choose LEDs made of aluminum or related alloys.
5. Warranty
A longer warranty period can reduce your maintenance costs, and you should choose floodlights with a warranty of more than 2 years.
How to install outdoor LED floodlights
1. Before installing LED floodlights, in order to ensure the quality of use after installation, it is recommended to conduct a detailed inspection of the floodlights on site before installation to see if there is any damage to the appearance of the LED floodlights and whether the accessories are complete. How about after-sales service, etc., each item must be carefully checked.
2. After the appearance is not damaged and the accessories are complete, it is necessary to prepare the LED floodlights for installation after arriving at the construction site. First, organize the installation personnel according to the installation drawings attached by the factory, and first connect a few floodlights to try to make sure the installation drawings are correct. If possible, if possible, you can arrange for one person to test the lights one by one to avoid taking them upstairs and having to dismantle them if something breaks after installation.
3. It is to remind the installation workers of the importance of fixing and wiring. In particular, waterproofing of outdoor wiring is very important. Try to double-check when fixing and wiring.
4. After the LED floodlight is fixed and connected, and when you are ready to test the light, try to use a multimeter on the main power supply to check whether there is a short circuit due to wrong wiring or other conditions.
5. After all the LED floodlights have been tested, try to keep them on for as long as possible. Check again on the second and third days. After doing this, everything will be good and there will be no problems later.
